Ollie William Eck, longtime resident of Fairview passed away on September 2, 2013 at the Fairview Regional Medical Center at the age of 94. Services will be at the Ringwood Baptist Church at 10 am on September 7, 2013 with Rev. Brian Frable officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Meno, OK. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.
Ollie was born on January 2, 1919 in Ringwood, OK to Eben Eck and Lizzie (Schmidt) Eck. He was reared in Ringwood and graduated from Ringwood high school in 1939. On April 7, 1940 he married Emmalee Massey. He entered the United States Navy in 1943 and was assigned to the New Jersey Carrier in Guam. He was honorably discharged in 1945.
He worked for four years for the Santa Fe Railroad and then was employed as the shop foreman at Cornelsen Motor Company in Fairview until 1965. Ollie married Clemma Jantz in 1966. He opened and operated his own mechanic shop in Fairview for several years. Ollie also farmed in the Cleo Springs area until his retirement.
Ollie is survived by two sons, Robert Eck of Talihina, Ok and James Eck and his wife Peggy of Ponca City, Ok., a sister, Dorothy LaMunyon of Enid, OK, Sister-in-Law Deane Eck of Enid, OK., six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one great, great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Clemma, daughter Karen Gayle Tepe and her husband Harold Tepe, one grandson Bret Tepe, and one brother.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Ringwood Baptist Church or the Fairview Senior Citizens Center with Fairview Funeral Home Inc acting as custodians of the funds.
