Enid, Formerly Ringwood-Committal service for Gladys will be Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery west of Meno. The memorial service for Gladys will be at 11:00 a.m. at Ringwood New Beginnings Wesleyan Fellowship. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Gladys was born August 4, 1917 in Sinton Texas to Carl and Lily Barnett. She married Milo Craig on March 10, 1936 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Milo brought her “home” to Ringwood, where she met the Craig family. Gladys’ mother died when she was fifteen, and she immediately bonded with “Mother Craig.” She learned so much from her “new” mother and said one of the things she remembered was always feeling safe with her, especially during storms, because Mother Craig was always so calm. When Mother Craig was told what Gladys said, her reply was, “If Gladys had only known, I was scared to death!”
Gladys was active in the Ringwood community. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School, was a faithful member of the women’s group and was pianist and organist for many years.
Surviving are her children, Barbara Roberts and her husband, Ted of Enid and Judy Haag of Centennial, Colorado. She has five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Milo; three sisters; one brother; a son, Carl and a great grandson, Craig.
The family would like to thank Mother’s caregivers for these past few years: Judy, JoAnn, Cindy, Peggy, Joyce, Dee and Gayla. We appreciate all you did for her. Thank You!
