Tillie Martha Cayot passed from this life on September 25, 2009 in Cushing, Oklahoma at the age of 91. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at the Church of the Nazarene in Cushing. Pastor Harold Johnson will officiate. Interment will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Meno, Oklahoma. Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.
Tillie was born on December 2, 1917 in Okeene, Oklahoma to the late Fred and Martha (Hintergradt) Jantzen. She received her early education in the Ringwood schools. Tillie married Milton Cayot on September 24, 1940 in Okeene. They moved to Cushing in 1961. Tillie worked for Sunnyside School in the cafeteria for 22 years. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. Tillie helped in the church nursery for a number of years. She was a member of the Stillwater and Shawnee Gem and Mineral Society. Tillie was a “Rock Hound”. She enjoyed cooking, raising tomatoes in her garden and traveling throughout the United States.
Tillie is survived by her sons Lon Dewayne Cayot of Mannford, Jerry Cayot of Cushing, Leslie Cayot and wife Terrie of West Minister, CO., her daughter Janet Cayot of Cushing, sisters LaVera Eck of Los Animas, CO., Evelyn Coehn and husband Clayton of Enid, grandchildren Lon Dewayne Cayot Jr. and wife April, Heather Cayot, Marisa Cayot, great grandchildren Stephanie Cayot and Jaden Cayot, 5 step-grandchildren and 12 step great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Tillie was preceded in death by her husband Milton Cayot in 1999, her parents, two brothers Johnnie and Benhard Jantzen, two sisters Lucille Campbell and Lillian Schmidt.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK.
