Jimmy L. Campbell

Funeral services for Jimmy L Campbell, 66, were held February 25, 2002 at 10 am at Parker Chapel Christian Union Church near Ames Oklahoma. He died February 21 at the Okeene Hospital. Pastors John Edwards and Steve Campbell officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Meno under the direction of Lanman Funeral Home of Okeene.

He was the son of Paul Blossom and Ethel (Veatch) Campbell and was born at Ringwood Oklahoma. He graduated from Ringwood High School and attended one year of college before entering the U S Army from 1955 to 1958 where he attained the rank of Sergeant. On June 16, 1958, he and Sammie Ruth Tannahill were married at Ringwood and they shared 43 years of marriage. He was in the retail business in California, worked in the real estate business and was a farmer for a time. He retired from the USG plant in Southard after 13 years as a night watchman. He was a member of the Parker Chapel Christian Union Church and had been a resident of the Ringwood, Ames and Okeene areas most of his life.

Survivors include his wife, Sammie R. of the home; one son, Jimmy L. Campbell Jr and his wife Shelley of Enid; one daughter Sherrie Renee Tinglum and her husband Erick of Palouma, Washington; three grandchildren Dylon Thomas Marler, Paul Charles Campbell, Cheyenne Autumn Campbell; four step grandchildren , Cody Gonser, Zachary Ramey, Bjorn Tinglum and Katie Tinglum; one brother Waldo Campbell and his wife Mary of Ringwood; one nephew Steve Campbell and his wife Loretta of Ringwood as well as numerous cousins and beloved friends.
