Freddie Clayton Jantzen, 76 years old, Runaway Bay, Texas and Okeene, Oklahoma, passed away on January 28, 2024 at 12:07 p.m. surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Freddie was born on April 18, 1947, to Benhard and Velva Jantzen in Enid, Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his parents, Benhard and Velva Jantzen; brothers, Autry, Sidney, and Zendell, and nephew, Marty Jantzen. A great reunion with our Lord and Savior and this family was made on this day. Freddie is survived by his wife, Linda Jantzen whom he married on November 30, 1974; son, Ricky Chance; daughters, Tami Chance, and Toni Webb; nieces, Brenda Jantzen Jordan, and Audrey Jantzen Seal; fifteen grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.

From a young age, Freddie was introduced to a passion for animals, which included horses and horse racing. Horse racing was a hobby that his family and friends enjoyed together. They enjoyed success with this pastime. He also enjoyed farming, gardening, hunting, and fishing, all of which were influential contributions to molding him into a very driven and hardworking individual.

Freddie was one of this country's great Heroes, a Veteran, who served in the Vietnam War and was awarded the Bronze Star W/V Device, Purple Heart, Air Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Army Commendation Medal.

In 2011 Freddie retired from Sampson Oil Company as Production Foreman. He then went on to spend more time with family and doing all the things he enjoyed. Freddie continued to be a wonderful friend to many. To anyone who knew him, he was always a compassionate listening ear, and produced many hearty laughs with his jokes. He was so loved and will be greatly missed.
