Frank Doane
October 7, 1930 - March 1, 2024
Chester Franklin "Frank" Doane passed away at Brookdale Senior Living in Enid, Oklahoma. He was born in Meno and spent his entire life in the Meno and Ringwood area. Frank's dedication to his faith was evident through his membership at the First Baptist Church of Lahoma, where he served as treasurer for many years.
He was baptized in 1947 and later graduated from Lahoma High School. He went to college at Phillps University then OSU where the dorms were tents. Frank served on the ski patrol for the U. S. Army during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954. Frank's love for farming was unparalleled, and he was known as a hardworking and dedicated farmer. His skills extended beyond the fields as he enjoyed welding and carpentry.
Frank's story with his wife Ramona began at a skating rink, culminating in their marriage on June 7, 1957. Their union blessed them with two children, Brenda Cohorn and Raymond Doane.
Frank had a talent for storytelling and often entertained his loved ones with tales from years gone by. He found joy in simple pleasures like watching "Wheel of Fortune," "Jeopardy," and old westerns. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, faith, and love that will be cherished by all who knew him.
Frank is survived by his children, Brenda Cohorn, Raymond Doane, and wife, Cindy; grandchildren, Heather Nelson and husband, Gerry, Holly Smith and husband, David, Timothy Larsen and Jen, Jonathan Larsen, Michelle Palmquest and husband, Eric, Alicia Sheik and husband, Aaron, Brandon Doane and wife, Takayla, and Matt Doane, as well as 21 great-grandchildren.
Those who have preceded Frank in death are his wife, Ramona; his parents, Chester and Velma Doane; his son-in-law, Randy Cohorn.
A graveside service for Frank will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Meno, Oklahoma at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Helena. www.lanmanfuneralhome.com Facebook: Lanman Funeral Home Inc.
