October 28, 1962 - January 29, 2021

Memorial service for Mylinda Sue Walker, 58, of Waynoka, Oklahoma, formerly of Fairview will be 2 pm, Friday, February 26, 2021 at the Orion Baptist Church with burial in the Orion Cemetery. Arrangements by Fairview Funeral Home Inc.

Mylinda Sue Walker was born in Fairview, Oklahoma on October 28, 1962 to Dwain Clark and Carol Louise (Pester) Tucker and passed away tragically on January 29, 2021 when her house in Waynoka caught on fire.

Mylinda grew up in Fairview and attended school there, graduating from Fairview High School in 1981. In 1982 she met Martin Walker and they were married that same year. The following year they were blessed with a darling daughter, Heidi. In 1990 the couple was again blessed with another darling daughter, Mary. Mylinda started substitute teaching in 1991 for the Waynoka public school system. Over the next 27 years she taught grade school all the way up to high school, and even taught for 6 years at Freedom Oklahoma, until she finally, in 2018, quit teaching. However, teaching was not Mylinda’s only love, for several years she owned and operated a pet store.

One of the main reasons she quit teaching was to spend more time with her grandkids. She would set with them, go to their many sports activities or anything else they were doing. She simply loved spending time with them. She enjoyed bowling and most of all she loved her momma’s Taco Salad. Mylinda was a fun-loving person that will be missed by her mother, daughters, grandchildren and many other family members and friends.

Mylinda is survived by her mother; Carol Tucker of Fairview, daughters; Heidi Cook and husband Joshua of Mooreland, Mary Gallauher and husband Franklen of Woodward, her sister; Teresa Deshazo and husband Mark of Oklahoma City, eight grandchildren; Rustin Cook, Landen Cook, Tegan Cook, Donald Hoover, Jordan Hoover, Brantley Hoover, Hadlee Gallauher and Kolson Gallauher, Uncle Charles Tucker and wife Linda, two aunts; Ada Dow and Vada Miller, adopted sisters; Sharon Dyer and Rhonda Parrish, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Dwain Tucker, brothers Mike Tucker and Glen Tucker, niece Amy Tucker, and soul mate Jim Jones.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Waynoka Fire Department.
