The funeral for Leona Faye Archer-Moore, 94, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, at Midway Assembly of God Church. Pastor Tommy Pitts will officiate. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. in Orion Cemetery . Pastor Charles Newton will officiate. Arrangements are by Redinger Funeral Home, Seiling.
She was born Aug. 30, 1914, east of Chester to Joseph and Neva Vickers Warner and died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, at Seiling Municipal Hospital. She was raised in Bado and Orion communities and attended Liberty School. She married Dale Kenneth Archer July 8, 1932, in Major County. They operated the Apple Grove Store for several years before moving to Grand Island, Neb., and later to Fairfield, Iowa. They returned to Fairview for nine years, where they operated a café. He died May 30, 1969. She married Wilbur Moore Oct. 2, 1971, in Orion . They made their home in Bado. She was a member of the Home Betterment Club in Fairview and Orion Homemakers for more than 50 years. She also was a member of Orion Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Wilbur, of Chester; one daughter, Darlene Moore of Bethany; one son, Terry Archer of Fairview; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her first husband, Dale, she was preceded in death by one son, five sisters and two brothers.
