Betty Jo Rhodes was born on December 13 ,1956 in Provo, Utah and she left this world peacefully in her home in Longdale, Oklahoma on January 14, 2026. She was preceded in death by her father and mother Guy and Lola Rhodes; brothers Melvin and Bob Rhodes; sisters Maggie Rhodes and Dorothy Loss; one nephew, great nephew, and daughter Susan Proffitt. She is survived by her son Toby & Mahala Proffitt; daughter Amy & Charles Price. Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, one sister Debbie Smith and husband Alan; two brothers Ray Rhodes and Marty Rhodes; and many loving Friends.
Betty Jo lived a simple life; she enjoyed birdwatching, gardening, being out in nature, cooking and spending time with family and friends. She was a vibrant soul that brightened the world around her no matter where she went. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. As we all pay our final respects and say our simple heartfelt loving goodbyes to one of the special people, we were all fortunate enough to have in our lives, keep in mind to treasure those we do still have with us here today and keep Betty's memory alive by loving those the rest of the world sometimes overlooks.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 19, 2026 at the Longdale Gym with Keith Robinett officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Pierce Funeral Home, Canton, OK. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.piercefuneralhomes.com.
