Mennonite Brethren North Cemetery
The funeral for Matilda "Tillie" Wichert, 92, of Fairview, will be 2 PM Monday at Mennonite Brethren Church of Fairview. The Rev. Gary Janzen will officiate. Burial will be in North Mennonite Brethren Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc. Visitation will be one to 6 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
She was born October 22, 1914, near Homestead to John B. And Agnes Bekker Ratzlaff and died Thursday, October 26, 2006, in Madill.
She grew up around the Fairview area and attended Green Valley, Isabella and Longdale schools, graduating from Longdale. She worked on her father's farm, in his grocery stores and cream and feed store. She also was postmaster in Orienta. She married Emil Nightingale August 23, 1936. He died November 16, 1976. She worked at Hallren Poultry Plant in Fairview and at a grocery store on North Van Buren in Enid. She married Frank Wichert April 10, 1982. He died may 20, 2002. She was a member of North Mennonite Brethren Church.
Surviving are two sons, Clarence Nightingale of Mead and Bob Nightingale of Kingston; two sisters, Adeline Koehn of Fairview and Betty Manning of Enid; six grandchildren; 16 great – grandchildren; and three great – great – grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both husbands, one son and one sister.
