Stella Jane Wichert Eitzen

Stella Jane (Wichert) Eitzen was born November 12, 1932 to Albert and Emma Wichert. She passed from her earthly home October 13, 2025 at the age of 92 years, 11 months.

Stella attended school at Cheyenne Valley and Golden Valley, graduating from Fairview High School. She was an active member of the Mennonite Brethren Church, originally attending the North M.B. church. Stella met the love of her life, Gene Eitzen, at a youth gathering of the North and South M.B. churches. After a four year courtship, they were married on November 24, 1950. They welcomed to their union two children, Sandra and Roger.

During their early years of marriage, they farmed west of Fairview. Later, Gene and Stella built and operated the Classic Inn Motel in Fairview. For 14 years, Stella was dedicated to the operation of the Classic Inn. After the sale of the motel, Stella became involved with working with flowers, employed by Eva Hamilton. Later, she started her own floral business "Designs by Appointment".

Stella had a strong faith, passing it along to her children and grandchildren. She had an active role in their upbringing. Stella was active in church, teaching VBS and Pioneer Girls. She also served on the Dining Hall Committee and as a Trustee.

Stella was preceded in death by her parents; husband Gene; brother Loyd and grandson Bill. She is survived by daughter, Sandra Denton and husband Bill; son Roger Eitzen and wife Denise; grandchildren Joshua Williams (Jennifer), Zachary Williams, Benjamin Williams (Kimberly), Elizabeth Taylor (Kevin), Kara Lawrence (Rick), John Eitzen , Daniel Eitzen (Rindy) and Lisa Eitzen; great-grandchildren Riley (Denton) Felty (Cameron), Kieran Williams, Colton Lawrence (Emily), Will Taylor, Tate Taylor, Cora Beth Taylor, Jo Lee Denton, Zachary Lawrence, Jaris Eitzen, Kinley Taylor, Bella Lawrence, Kyler Eitzen, Sam Williams, Wyatt Eitzen and Benny Williams; great-great-granddaughter Lesley Claire Lawrence.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 27, 2025 at the Fairview M.B. Church with Pastor Travis Schmidt and Pastor James Suderman officiating. Inurnment will follow at the North M.B. Cemetery under the direction of Pierce Funeral Home, Fairview. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association or to breast Cancer research with the funeral home serving as custodian at P.O. Box 15, Fairview, OK 73737.
