The funeral for Susie E. Koehn, age 96, will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, at New Hopedale Mennonite Church. The Rev. James Suderman will officiate. Burial will be in New Hopedale Mennonite Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Susie was born May 29, 1913, in a sod house in Vona, Colo., to Henry U. and Katie J. (Boese) Schmidt, and died Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, at The Commons Methodist Home. She attended school in Meno and Oklahoma Bible Academy high school. She married Lowell O. Koehn Nov. 28, 1935. He passed away Jan. 28, 1990. She was a member of New Hopedale Mennonite Church and a member of the Ladies Aide group. She was an avid quilter, loved to cook and can food. She was a loving and caring mother.
Susie is survived by her son, Ron Koehn and wife Darlene of Enid; grandsons, Troy Koehn and wife Nisa of Pratt, Kan., and Sheldon Koehn of Ringwood, Okla.; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and four brothers.
Memorials may be made to the New Hopedale Mennonite Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds.
