Paul Eugene Jones
June 6, 1958 - July 14, 2024
Paul Eugene Jones was born on June 6, 1958, to Thomas Eugene "Gene" Jones and Audry Pauline Butler Jones. He passed away at his home surrounded by family on July 14, 2024. He was 66 years old.
Paul was raised at the family farm north of Seiling and spent his entire life in the Seiling and Chester communities. He attended school at Seiling and graduated with the Class of 1977. He furthered his education by receiving certificates in farm machinery repair, small engine repair, welding, and auctioneering. He spent several years in the oilfield before transitioning to full time farming.
Paul enjoyed hunting and fishing, but coon hunting was by far his most favorite. He raised and owned several award-winning Walker Coonhounds. He also enjoyed trap shooting and loved to brag about his skills. He enjoyed gambling both by playing cards and frequenting the casinos. He always had a Wahoo board close by and never hesitated to change the rules mid game. He enjoyed camping and roasting marshmallows around the campfire with his kids, and grandkids. He spent many enjoyable hours at the coffee shop drinking coffee and visiting with friends. He never hesitated to sit and watch others work and lived by the motto "do unto others before they can do unto you".
On February 14, 2019, Paul was united in marriage to Kathy Murr Brissey. They enjoyed 5 years together and Kathy stayed by his side until the very end. They attended the Richmond Country Church.
Paul is survived by his wife, Kathy, and son Micah Brissey of the home, his children Joe Jones, Jenny Tolle and husband Darren, James Jones and wife Lynelle, Thomas Jones, and honorary son Josh Cheney. He is also survived by sisters Lois Graff and Wanda McCrate and husband Mike, brother Roy Jones and wife Sheri, Uncle Bill Jones of Oakley, KS, 16 grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, special aunt Verl Daniels, and many other relatives and friends.
Paul was a true friend who loved the outdoors and the land he tended by being a farmer. His memory will live on in those he leaves behind.
Funeral Services will be Friday, July 19, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Redinger Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Liberty Cemetery in Major Co.
