October 4, 1934 - October 2, 2020
Kitty LaJune (Woodring) Stewart, 85 year old resident of Chester, OK, passed from this life on October 2, 2020. Kitty was born October 4, 1934 to Callie and Thelma (Hoskins) Woodring in Chester, OK. She grew up in Chester and attended Chester Schools and later graduated from Seiling High School. Kitty attended Enid Business College and graduated with a degree in business.
On April 23, 1955, Kitty married Andrew “Andy” Stewart in Fairview, OK. To this union two sons were born Chris and Curtis. Kitty lived in Chester for the remainder of her life. She was a homemaker and served as secretary for Champlin Petroleum for 5 years. Kitty was a member of the First Christian Church in Seiling. She was an avid OU fan and Enid Woodring Airport was named after her family.
Kitty is preceded in death by her parents Callie and Thelma Woodring and sisters Callene Elwell and Elva Dean McKinnis.
She is survived by her husband of the home Andy Stewart; sons Chris Stewart and wife Michelle of Chester and Curtis Stewart and wife Bonita of Chester; grandson Baxter Stewart and wife Shayla of Tahlequah, OK and granddaughter Jordan Marsh and husband Dakota of Weatherford, OK; great grandchildren Kenlee Marsh and Taylor Marsh both of Weatherford, OK and Luke Stewart of Tahlequah, OK; many nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
The family would like to specially thank Kelsie Holt and staff at Superior Home Health. Dr. Kenneth Duffy and the entire Seiling Hospital team for the wonderful care and compassion over the past two years.
Funeral services for Kitty will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 5, 2020 at the Redinger Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Kitty’s honor may be made to the First Christian Church of Seiling or the Elm Grove Community Church in c/o Redinger Funeral Home (Box 236, Seiling, OK 73663)
