December 9, 1928 - February 13, 2014

Funeral service for Vera Maxine Marlatt will be 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at Ringwood United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Terrill Parvin and James Farmer officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Helena. Viewing will be 2-6 p.m. today, Feb. 16. (www.lanmanmemorials.com.)

Vera was born Dec. 9, 1928, in Loyal, Okla., the daughter of Harold and Sarah Sheridan Stewart and passed from this life on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, in Enid. Vera was a homemaker who had lived in the Ringwood area for 85 years. She was a person who loved to sew and quilt. Her life was spent loving and raising her children, and she always remembered every child’s and grandchild’s birthday. She attended Ringwood Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Marlatt; one sister, Joyce Able; two brothers, Roy Stewart and Ike Stewart; grandson, Jamie Chappell; and two sons-in-law, Randy Newman and Mark Geiger.

Survivors include her children, Wesley Spomer and wife Judy of Lahoma, Della Geiger of Augusta, Kan., Dale Spomer and wife Jarita of Houston, Texas, Wanda Newman of Ringwood, Ray Spomer and wife Sandy of Okarche, Lee Spomer and wife Donita of Rhame, N.D.; four brothers, Kenneth Stewart and wife Pat of Wichita, Kan., Owen K. “Pete” Stewart and wife Darla of Dimmitt, Texas, Jack Stewart and wife Twila of Ely, Iowa, and Bill Stewart and wife Norene of Oakview, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the church or Hospice Circle of Love through the funeral home. (Submitted by family)
