Funeral services for Darryl D. Hays age 75 of Kremlin will be 3 p.m. Monday at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev. George Lupton officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the kind direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Darryl was born July 6, 1935 in Kremlin, OK to Juel and Elizabeth “Lizzy” King Hays and passed away November 24, 2010 in St. Mary’s Regional Hospital.

He was raised in the Kremlin community where he attended and graduated from Kremlin High School.

Darryl married Laveta Frey on September 4, 1955 and she passed away May 4, 2001. Darryl worked for Bond Bakery as a supervisor, and later worked for F.W. Zaloudek as a tractor mechanic for several years. Darryl was a founding member of the Kremlin Volunteer Fire Dept where he served as an EMT for 12 years and volunteered for over 23 years.

Darryl married Shirley Haley on February 14, 2002 in Lindsay, OK. He attended the Kremlin Community Methodist Church and was a member of Enid Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his wife Shirley of the home, two daughters Darla Underwood of Marlow, OK and Brenda Avery of Covington, OK, one son Todd Hays of Garber, OK, step children Jack and Steve Eck, Pam Arsenault, and Kathy Windler, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, a sister Maxine Schulein of Bedford, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers John and LeRoy.

Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation Heart or Cancer Divisions with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the fund.
