Darrel was born in Lankin, Kansas on October 12, 1938 to parents Arthur Farnsworth and Minnie Frickel Farnsworth and passed from this life in Enid on March 17, 2017. He was raised in the Ringwood area and lived and farmed there his lifetime, except for the time he served his country in the U. S. Marines. He and Delila Mae Nightengale were married on November 7, 1970 in Richmond, Oklahoma. Darrel was a member of New Beginnings Wesleyan Fellowship and was also a proud member of the Gideons. He went to area schools, the Mercy House in Enid and many other places giving New Testaments to all the people he encountered. Darrel had a soft spot in his heart for all animals – horses, cows, calves, sheep, donkeys, rabbits – he loved them all. He was a Jiffy Trip coffee drinker and a visitor at the Coop.
Those who have preceded him in death are his parents, Arthur and Minnie Farnsworth; one sister, Lucille Hahn and three brothers, James, Louis and Robert Farnsworth.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Delila Farnsworth of Ringwood; three children, Kenneth Farnsworth of Texas, Tabitha Farnsworth of Ringwood and Douglas Farnsworth and wife, Tanya of Ringwood; two sisters, Betty Farnsworth of Dallas, Texas and Lovnne Farnsworth of Hugo; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces.
