Luella LaVaughn Dobbs was born September 29, 1926, in Ringwood OK to Roy and Millie (Reed) Frey, and died August 19, 2011, in Enid OK at Golden Oaks Nursing Center. LaVaughn attended school and graduated from Garber High School before moving to Enid with her family, where she attended Enid Business College. She met the love of her life, Richard Dobbs, when he came home from the Navy to visit his family. They married December 27, 1946, and were married 58 years before his death in 2004.
LaVaughn and Richard shared many experiences over the years, traveling with friends and family throughout the United States, to Alaska, and Panama. Much fun was had camping, boating, waterskiing, usually taking grandchildren. They just enjoyed life together! As LaVaughn said many times, "I've had a really good life." She was a member of First Baptist Church of Enid.
LaVaughn is survived by her sons Steve and wife Debbie of Enid, Lynn and wife Lana of Fairview OK, and Dennis of Fairview; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister Carol Merz and brother-in-law Jay; brother Larry Frey and sister-in-law Jan; and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard, her parents, and four sisters.
