RECENT DEATHS BUTTS – Funeral services for Esther Muriel Butts, 10, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James O. Butts, of Ringwood, were held Monday morning in the Oakdale school southwest of Ringwood, with Rev. John P. Unruh in charge. Burial was made in Glenwood cemetery.

The child drowned Friday night as she was wading in the Cimarron river with Jerry Smith, a playmate. Both apparently stepped into a hole, and could not get out alone. The Smith girl's father was unable to get both children out at once, and Muriel failed to revive under emergency treatment in a Fairview hospital.

Survivors include her parents, a brother, J.A. Butts; two sisters, Edith June and Mary Eva Butts, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Murphy and Mrs. Arch Butts, of Enid.

The Henninger Funeral Home was in charge of the services.
