Enid, OK — The funeral service for Rose Marie Birchfield, 64, of Cleo Springs, Okla., will be 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, at Lahoma First Baptist Church. Pastor Steve Campbell and Chaplain Gail Edmison will officiate with burial in Forrest Cemetery, Ringwood, Okla. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Helena, Okla.
The casket will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memories may be shared with the family by going to www.lanmanmemorials.com.
She was born Oct. 14, 1944, in Fairview, Okla., to Pete and Pearl Hudson and died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center, Enid, Okla., due to liver complications.
She was going through the process of getting a liver transplant. She was a 1962 graduate of Ringwood High School. She lived and worked most of her life around the Enid area, retiring from Cherokee Manor, Cherokee, Okla. She was an advocate volunteer at Aline-Cleo Elementary School, where she read to students and sewed many cheerleading uniforms and play costumes. Her daughter Jami's class always was her favorite.
Surviving are her daughters, Jami Birchfield of Cleo Springs, Okla., Bonnie Bunch and husband Kevin of Wichita, Kan., Paula Snodgrass and husband Dale of Lahoma, Okla.; and grandsons, Cory Detrick and Kiefer Bunch; two brothers, Melvin Hudson of Arkansas and Frank Hudson of Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ronnie Hudson.
Memorials may be made through Lanman Funeral Home Inc. to Holly McBlair Deane for a kidney transplant.
