May 27, 1938 ~ October 6, 2025

Funeral Services for Donald Lee Turner., age 87, will be held on Friday October 10 at 10:00 am at the Cedar Springs Nazarene Church with burial at Fern Cliff Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Donald Lee Turner was born May 27,1938 to Albert and Elsie Turner and passed away October 6, 2025 at the Fairview Fellowship Home. He attended Liberty country school north of Orion through the 8th grade and graduated from Fairview High School in 1956. He learned hard work as a young kid, whether it be picking cotton, cutting wood or milking cows. He said as a kid they ate a lot of bread and milk because that's what they had. Seems he developed a taste for it because he would eat it often as an adult for a snack.

On his 21st birthday, May 27,1959, he was united in marriage with Barbara Lee Kirk at Cedar Springs Nazarene Church and celebrated 62 years before her passing in 2021. Don and Barbara raised three sons that they were proud of. They instilled integrity and good work ethic by being good examples for their kids and grandkids to follow.

Don did many jobs over the years to supplement his farming. He worked at USG, Hallrens, did carpentry, worked at Seiling, Fairview and Woodward sale barns, ran a hay wagon for several years, (hauled 135,000 bales in 1970), roughnecked and drilled in the oilfield, custom cut and baled hay and ran D & B Windshield Repair with Barbara for nearly 20 years.

Don and Barbara enjoyed going to ballgames and events of their kids and grandkids and rarely missed one. Dons' quick wit and ornery grin will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara, folks Albert Turner, Elsie Ford, Ted Nightengale, Luther Ford, in-laws Elmer and Letha Kirk, siblings Wilma, Ramona, Kenneth, Linda and many good friends.

Surviving him are his sons Curtis Turner and fiance' Lisa, Keith and wife Kristi, and Dale and wife Trenda all of Longdale. 9 grandchildren,15 great grandchildren and sister Doris Brewer and husband Loren.

Memorials may be made to Fern Cliff Cemetery with Fairview Funeral Home acting as custodian.
