April 24, 1951 - March 04, 2008
Nancy Jane (Lobb) Williams, daughter of Plazie and Ruby (Conway) Lobb, made her appearance in this world April 24, 1951 in Phoenix, Ariz. She passed from this earth March 4, 2008, at the young age of 56, at her home in Fairview, Okla., unexpectedly following a short illness. Family and friends gathered on March 5, 2008, to commemorate and celebrate her life. At her own request, Nancy asked to be cremated and her ashes scattered over the graves of her husband and son at the Fairview Cemetery, at Fairview, Oklahoma under direction of the Fairview Funeral Home Inc.
Her earlier years were mainly spent in Texas. Nancy’s family moved frequently due to her father’s job as a seasonal worker following the crops, and as a construction worker building highways. On Dec. 14, 1969, Nancy and Ronald L. Williams were married at Wichita, Kan. They lived there until moving to Fairview in 1979 for employment at Power Tongs, with their children Ronald, Thaddeus, and Jason. After moving to Fairview five more children joined the family, Plazie (George), Casey, Margaret (Maggie), Rebecca (Becca), and John. Nancy stayed at home with the children, and pursued her love of plants and flowers, painting murals, and reading. Nancy would be seen frequently picking up trash and pulling weeds around Fairview, instilling in her children to take pride in Fairview and their community. She was a nature lover and loved birds, flowers, plants, and trees of all kinds. Nancy volunteered at the City Library by frequently transplanting and watering plants. Nancy’s yard was full of flowers, shrubs, trees, bursting with color in the spring. She helped in the genealogy department at the Library by doing volunteer research and filing of obituaries. One of her great passions was researching her family genealogy with her step-mother Opal. Nancy loved books and read true-to-life crime, mysteries, and, historical romance. She passed on her love of reading to several of her children. Nancy always had time to share a cup of coffee and provide a listening ear. Nancy loved surprising her friends and family by giving small tokens and gifts to uplift them. She will be missed by friends and family sauntering down the street with a cup of coffee in hand, with a spring straw hat perched jauntily on her head; or sitting on a bench watching the world go past. Nancy loved the seasons of spring and fall and looked forward to the changing of colors in nature.
Surviving are her children, Ron, Jason and wife, Tracie, April and husband, Richard, Plazie (George), Casey, Margaret, Rebecca, and John all of Fairview; brothers, Jim and Kelly Lobb, of Wichita, Kansas, Ronnie and Gary Lobb from New Mexico; sisters, Ellie Wolthausen, Plazie and husband, Norman Williams of Wichita, Kansas, Paul Lobb of Fairview; grandchildren, Logan Barrows, Isaac Wiebe, Aibhleen Williams, Dayne Williams, and Rachael Williams; also her nephew Erik and his wife Mable Williams of Fairview, along with their daughter Destiny and son Jacob Williams; and step-mother Opal Lobb, New Mexico.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Williams, and beloved son Thaddeus Paul, brother Jack Lobb, and her parents Plazie and Ruby Lobb.
Memorials may be made to the Fairview Library with the funeral home acting as custodian.
