Jerry Don Woodard was born March 2, 1944 in Anson, Texas to Emmitt and Clara Belle (Warren) Woodard and passed from this life to the next on August 8, 2024 at the Fairview Regional Medical Center in Fairview, Oklahoma.
Jerry grew up in Anson, Texas where he graduated from high school in 1962. After graduation he went to work in the oil and gas industry with Union Texas Petroleum Company. Jerry met the love of his life, Carolyn Hines, and the couple was married on August 10, 1965. He was transferred to the Ringwood plant that same year. He later was transferred to the Chester, Oklahoma plant. He worked for them until he retired in his late 40s. While working in the oil and gas industry, he also worked part time with Norman Dow as a journeyman electrician. After retiring from Union Texas Petroleum Company, he started his own business as a certified electrician and was still working when he passed away.
Jerry was a Mason in his younger days. He loved to watch old westerns, and old war movies, fishing and his pet cats. Jerry had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. He never had a bad word to say about anyone. Jerry was a good and loving man that loved his family and always took good care of his wife and more so after her stroke 14 years ago. He will be truly missed by those who knew him.
Jerry is survived by his wife Carolyn of 59 years, his daughters Melinda Woodard of Edmond, Oklahoma and Melanie Hale of Fairview, Oklahoma, one brother Larry Woodard of Texas and sister Shirley Ensley of North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents, nine brothers and sisters, one daughter Belinda and one infant grandchild.
