Chester – The funeral for Chester E. Unwin, 85, will be at 2 PM Saturday in the Redinger Funeral Home Chapel in Seiling with the Rev. Orville White and the Rev. Neil Unwin officiating.
Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery at Fairview.
Unwin died early Wednesday in a Seiling hospital. He was born in the Tivoli community in Major County January 24, 1899, and attended Tivoli school. He was a farmer and rancher.
Unwin and Leota May Wheeler were married October 13, 1940, at Seiling. They had made their home south of Orion since that time.
Unwin is survived by his wife Leota of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Bob (Joyce) Bond of Boynton; a son, Jerry Lee Unwin of Chester; seven grandchildren and a brother, Creel Unwin of Seiling. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, three brothers and a sister.

The funeral for Leota May Unwin, 82, will be 2 PM Sunday at Elm Grove Church. The Reverends Orville White and Phillip Shuler will officiate. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Reddingere Funeral Home, Seiling.
She was born March 22, 1919, at LaVeta, Colorado, to Samuel Perry and Minnie Gorman Wheeler and died Thursday, July 5, 2001, at her home after an extended illness.
The family moved to Coldwater, Kansas, where she attended grade school. They later lived near Seiling, where she worked at Brownies Café. She married Chet Ellwood Unwin October 13, 1940, at her sister's home in Seiling. They made their home on a farm south of Orion and lived there all their married life, with the exception of two years in Fairview, caring for his parents.
Surviving are one daughter, Joyce Suenram of Chester; a son, Jerry Unwin of San Antonio, Texas; one brother, Donald Eugene Wheeler of Reading, California; six grandchildren; and seven great – grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Chet, April 18, 1984, one infant daughter, two brothers, and one sister.
Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for cancer research with the funeral home acting as custodian of the fund.
