MARCH 19, 1935 ~ AUGUST 17, 2017

Ringwood-Funeral service for Betty Stafford, 82, will be Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Cleo Springs Baptist Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Viewing will be Monday 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Betty J. Stafford was born March 19, 1935 to Garnett and Hazel Witt in Perryton, Texas and passed from this life on August 17, 2017 at her home near Ringwood. She graduated from high school in Perryton, Texas in 1953. After graduation, she married Jerry L. Stafford on October 30, 1955. To this marriage was born Teresa, Tina, Terry, Tonya and Tammy. Betty worked as a nurse aide, waitress, in housekeeping and as a homemaker. She enjoyed working in the garden (pulling all the weeds), canning fresh vegetables, sewing and she loved her cats. She was greatly involved in different church communities. She was a loving, compassionate woman who cared for all her loved ones. She was a selfless individual who always put others before her own needs. Through the years, Betty helped raise multiple grandchildren. She always loved them as her own kids. She was a very special woman and will be missed by many.

Those who preceded her in death include her parents, Garnett and Hazel Witt; a sister, Marilyn Elaine Franco; a brother, Richard Garnett Witt; a daughter, Tammy Lane Sanders and a grandson, Jerry Sanders.

Betty’s survivors include her husband of sixty-one years, Jerry L. Stafford; their children, Teresa and Charles Lookingbill, Tina Herbst, Terry and Debbie Stafford, Tonya and Richard Byrd and Samantha and G. W. Weathers; sixteen grandchildren and forty-seven great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the funeral home on behalf of the family.
