Graveside service for Frances Marie Sholtess, 88, formerly of Fairview, will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at the Fairview Cemetery. Reverend Orville White will officiate. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc.
Frances Marie Sholtess was born August 16, 1929 in Anson, Texas, to J.L. and Ann (Baker) Davidson and passed away June 28, 2018 at the Enid Senior Care Center, Enid, Oklahoma.
Frances lived all over the United States in her youth, including Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Mississippi, Illinois, Wyoming and California. At a very early age, Frances was employed by an airplane manufacturing factory in San Diego, during the late days of WWII. After the war she worked for many years as a sales clerk for TG&Y. On October 1988, Frances M. (Davidson) Phillips married Kenneth Sholtess in Fairview Oklahoma and made her home there.
Frances was an avid craftsperson, constantly doing some form of crochet or embroidery. She was a great marksman and loved to fish and hunt. Frances always had a green thumb and grew a wonderful vegetable garden and flowers. She enjoyed hummingbirds and had quite a collection of figurines sitting in her windows. Red was her favorite color and she loved dogs and cats.
Surviving cancer three different times, Frances lived to the age of almost 89.
She is survived by her daughter Charlotte Perkins of Spokane Valley, Washington, grandson, Alan Perkins of Denver, Colorado, granddaughter, Robin Beard of Hauser, Idaho, great granddaughters, Casey Beard and Reese Beard of Moscow, Idaho, sister, Yvonne Glover, step sons, Mika Phillips and wife Judith Swain of Dolores, Colorado, Doyl Sholtess and wife Debra of Ringwood; step daughter, Delyne McCafferty and husband Buss of Fairmont; step grandchildren: Sherri Parks and husband Jason of Waukomis, Dustin Sholtess and wife Lacey of Ringwood, Tracy McCafferty of Fairmont, Michelle Featherstone and husband Randy of Oklahoma City; step great grandchildren: Seth, Destiny, and Kaylee Parks, Hunter and Jacob Bradford, Eryn Featherstone, Kadence Larson; and step great-great granddaughter Josie Mae Sholtess.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands; Kenneth Sholtess and Bud Phillips and one sister, Martha Moss.
