Fairview Cemetery


Funeral Services for Harley Charles Pembrook, age 88, of Fairview, will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Fairview Church of the Nazarene. Reverend Ricky Chance will officiate. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Harley was born west of Fairview on the family farm on January 31, 1929 to George Albert and Susie May (Boley) Pembrook and peacefully passed away at his home in Fairview on May 6, 2017

Harley grew up on the farm and attended the Tucker and Cheyenne Valley Schools until the eighth grade. He quit school and did many of the young men of that generation did and started working on the farm. He also worked at Hallren’s Produce for a few years. Harley later joined two of his brothers and went to work in the construction business. In his later years he went to work as a Compression Station Mechanic and continued to work for Enogex until he retired 25 years ago.

Harley married Maxine Standifer on July 2, 1965 in Fairview Oklahoma. The couple was blessed with five children, three boys James, George, and Ray and two girls Susan and Mary. Harley was a good husband and father and grandfather. Harley loved to spend time at the Sooner CO-OP convenient store drinking coffee and talking with the guys. He also spent every Thursday at the Fairview Sale Barn. Harley always loved a good joke and was liked by all who knew him. He will be missed.

Harley is survived by his two sons, James Pembrook of Longdale and Ray Farrand of Enid, his two daughters Susan Tarver and her husband Joe of Fairview and Mary Allan and her husband Mark of Watonga, 14 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

Harley was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Maxine, one son George Mack Pembrook, one daughter-in-law Sheri, 5 brothers, and one great grandchild.

In Lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Fairview Funeral Home for the Harley Pembrook Memorial.
