The graveside service for Neal C. Parker, 92, long-time resident of Fairview, OK will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Fairview Cemetery with Reverend Carl Marrow officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the United States Army. Arrangements are under the direction of Pierce Funeral Home, Fairview. Visitation will be held on Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Neal was born on September 19, 1919 near Fairview, OK to Nelson and Emma (Crump) Parker. He departed this life on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Norman, OK. Neal lived and farmed in Major County his entire life. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He will be remembered as a man that enjoyed working the soil and as a great storyteller. Neal married Rosie Carpenter in August of 1938. She preceded him in death in 1986. He later married Edna Brown in 1988.
Neal was preceded in death by his parents; wife Rosie Parker; daughter Mary Bowers; granddaughter Kathy Bowers; great-granddaughter Carly Pueppke; sister Josephine Kliewer; and two brothers, Woodrow Parker and Grover Parker.
Survivors include his wife Edna Parker; two sons, Dwaine Parker and wife Hilda, and Ed Parker and wife Karen; one brother, Donald Parker; grandchildren, Charles and April Dunning, Eddie and Mallory Winn, Chuck and Mondi Parker, Charles and Julie Bowers and Clay and Aleasha Pueppke; eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to the charity of donors choice with the funeral home acting as custodian at P.O. Box 15, Fairview, OK 73737.
