May 2, 1934 - July 2, 2019

Funeral Services for Jerry Lee Morgan, 85, of Fairview, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 6 2019, at the Church of the Nazarene in Fairview, Oklahoma. Pastor Ricky Chance will officiate. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Jerry Lee Morgan was born in Salina, Oklahoma on May 2, 1934 to Oscar and Thelma (Gray) Morgan and passed away July 2, 2019 at his home in Fairview, Oklahoma.

Jerry grew up in Drummond, Oklahoma and graduated from high school in 1952. After he graduated he worked as a farmhand for Winston and Helen Long until he joined the United States Army. He served a tour of duty in Germany and was Honorably Discharged. He returned and worked in Enid Oklahoma. He participated in drills for the Oklahoma National Gard which just happened to be directly across from a drug store where a beautiful young girl worked. He tried several times to get her to go out with him and she always said no. Finally, feeling sorry for him, she said yes and the rest is history. On May 23, 1959 Jerry married Lola Mae Shreve and they spent the next 54 years together. The couple moved to Fairview, Oklahoma in 1967. They were blessed with two children; Sherri and Stacy. Jerry was a mechanic for Burrell’s John Deere until the 1980s. He then went to work in the oil field as a mechanic for Cimarron Operating where he worked for several years and finally went to work for Rother Brothers, where he worked until he retired.

Jerry had the reputation as the person that could fix any tractor he worked on. Many farmers in the area would call Jerry to fix their tractors. Jerry was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be missed very much by all who knew him.

Jerry is survived by his daughter, Sherri and Bill Boese of Mustang, Oklahoma; son, Stacy Morgan and Dennis Elsea of Farmington, Arkansas; four grandchildren: Stephanie Stimson, Lynse Tilley, Sarah and Nick Palmer, and Kaylee Boese; five great-grandchildren: Elise, Caden, Aidan, Ava, and Destiny; and sister Aletha Crais of Enid.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Lola, his sister, Reva Jean Boedecker, and his brother, Buford Morgan.
