Fairview Cemetery


The graveside service for Dorthy Marie Howerton Morgan, 91, of Fairview, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 27, 2010, in Fairview Cemetery. The Rev. David Mendenhall will officiate. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc. Viewing will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

She was born March 14, 1919, south of Fairview to Henry Thomas and Ida Bell Carter Howerton and died Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Fairview Regional Medical Center.

She grew up in Fairview and attended school in Longdale.

She married Marvin O. Morgan in June 1954, in Enid. They lived in Wichita for many years before returning to Fairview. She worked as a waitress in her early years.

Surviving are one brother, "Dude" Howerton, and two sisters, Thelma Parkins of Garber and Laverna Howerton of Enid.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to First Baptist Church, Fairview.
