August 13, 1933 - April 20, 2017

Funeral services for Mary Elizabeth Matteson, 83, of Fairview, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 24, 2017 at the Church of the Nazarene in Fairview, Oklahoma. Pastor Nathan Twyman will officiate. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Mary was born to Paul B. and Mary E (Gill) Harrison on August 13, 1933. She grew up on a farm with her ten brothers and sisters in the Shelbina, Missouri area.

In November of 1965, she married Carroll B. Matteson who was a farmer in Missouri. They started their life together when they moved to Fairview, Oklahoma. Mary and C.B. moved to Gillette, Wyoming in 1973 for eighteen months then moved back to Fairview in 1975. Mary went to work for Fairview packing plant as a meat wrapper and worked there for many years.

Mary was a very active and faithful member of the Isabella Nazarene Church for most of her life. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was truly loved by all who knew her.

She is survived by two step-daughters, Patty Kliewer and Elaine Garman both of Fairview, four grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and ten great-great grandchildren, also her five sisters Neva Owen (Jerry) of Cairo, MO, Margaret Starmer (Roger), Rita Homan (Larry), Theresa Reynolds (Neil), Barbara Kiser (Danny) all of Shelbina, MO, and one brother John Harrison (Sherry) of Mexico, MO.

She is preceded in death by her husband C.B., her parents, Paul and Mary, three brothers, Paul, Harry and David Harrison, one sister Billie Kaye Harrison and one grandson Michael D. Browning.

Memorials may be made through the Fairview Funeral Home to the Isabella or Fairview Nazarene Church.
