Funeral Services for Ruth L. Martin, 100, formerly of Fairview, will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the Fairview Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Jason Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, Oklahoma. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Ruth Leola (Riley) Martin was born December 9, 1913 to Ross and Maude (Lang) Riley on a farm north of Longdale, Oklahoma and died April 17, 2014 at her daughter (Karen’s) home near Yukon, Oklahoma at the age of 100 years.

Ruth spent her childhood on the family farm near Longdale. She graduated from Longdale High School in 1932. On January 29, 1935 Ruth married Johnny Martin at Taloga, Oklahoma. In 1938 they purchased a farm near Cleo Springs, Oklahoma where they raised wheat and cattle. In 1976 they retired and moved to Fairview. In 1998 Ruth moved in with her daughter Karen when Johnny died.

Ruth is survived by three daughters: Janice Martin of Midwest City, OK, Karen Gatz and her husband Fred of Yukon, OK, LaJonna Johnson and her husband Charles of Edmond, OK, son-in-law Larry Rhodes of Ardmore, OK, grandchildren; John Gatz, Julie Marley and husband Craig, Gary Gatz and his wife Glenda, Jason Johnson and his wife Kari and Dustin Rhodes; great-grandchildren: Jerrod and Jonathan Gatz, Blake and Barry Marley, Chandler and Cheldon Gatz, Elly and Soren Johnson and her dear twin sister Ruby Woods.

She was preceded in death by husband Johnny and her youngest daughter Connie, two sisters: Zora Pettit and Alice Martin, and one brother, Allen Riley

Memorials may be made to the charity of choice with Fairview Funeral Home Inc. acting as custodian.
