Funeral Services for Charles "Chuck" Richard McKinney, age 81, of Cleo Springs will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at the Fairview First Church of the Nazarene. Reverend Claude Guy will officiate. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.
Charles "Chuck" Richard McKinney was born November 24, 1940 to Thelmer Elijah and Hazel (Allenbaugh) McKinney in Bowlegs, Oklahoma and passed away September 21, 2022 at 6:56 pm at Saint Anthony's Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
When Chuck was four years old, his family moved to a Naval Project in Long Beach, California just before World War Two and could tell you about the P-38s flying over-head and tanks rolling down the streets.
He attended elementary school at John Muar, and Middle school at Even's Junior High in Long Beach, and Anaheim High school in Anaheim, California. After high school graduation, Chuck joined the Army National Guard and is discharged as a Specialist Four, driving Armored Personal Carriers.
On August 6, 1966 he married Karen Sue Frickel and had two children, Gregory Charles, and Marla Michelle. December of 1966 Chuck and Karen were called to be the pastor and wife of the Richland Church of the Nazarene in Richland Oklahoma, where they helped remolded and added a Fellowship Hall to the church.
In December of 1974 they were called again to be pastor and wife of the Fairview Church of the Nazarene in Fairview, Oklahoma where they pastored for thirty-eight years helping to build a new church and parsonage.
During his ministry, he had two hundred funerals and conducted twenty-five marriages. Karen played the organ or piano at every one of these.
Chuck is survived by his son, Greg McKinney and his two girls, Taylor and Devon, and his daughter Marla McKinney and her daughter Krislyn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Karen, two brothers and one sister.
