The funeral for Frederick F. Kliewer, 94, of Fairview will be 10:00 am, Saturday, February 25, 2007, at the Cleo Baptist Church, Cleo Springs. Reverend David Mendenhall will officiate. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Fairview. Arrangements by the Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.
Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 23 at Fairview Funeral Home, Inc., and at the church prior to the service on Saturday.
Frederick (Fred) F. Kliewer was born November 7, 1912, to Frank and Minnie Funk Kliewer in Reedley, California and passed away February 22, 2007 at his home near Fairview.
At age two, the family returned to their home near Orienta, where he grew up. He attended school at Orienta. In 1937, he became a Christian
On March 27, 1938 he was united in marriage to Bertha Corbly. Both Fred and Bertha were very active in missions. They were instrumental in starting the Ringwood Baptist Mission and the Cleo Springs Baptist Mission. Both Missions are Southern Baptist Churches today. Fred was a Sunday school teacher for over 25 years.
Fred lived near Orienta for most of his life where he was a custom wheat cutter, farmer, and rancher.
Survivors include a daughter, Margaret and husband Carl Broadhurst of Fayetteville, NC, one son, Herbert and wife Mary of Fairview, two granddaughters Eileen Broadhurst of Goffstown, New Hampshire, Sandra and husband Timothy Jenkins of Burns, Kansas, and two great-grandchildren, Bethany and Zachary Jenkins of Burns, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his wife Bertha, two sisters, five brothers, and one infant son Joseph.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice Circle of Love, Cleo Springs Baptist Church, or the building fund of the First Baptist Church, Fairview, OK through the funeral home.
