Graveside service for C. W. "Cy" Irwin, 76, will be at 10:30 AM in the Fairview Cemetery, the Rev. Jerry Darter will officiate. Arrangements are by Anderson – King Funeral Home, Enid.
He was born August 12, 1917, in Leedey to M. J. and Ollie Newton Irwin and died Sunday, August 29, 1993, after a period of ill health. He attended Leedey schools and graduated from Williams Institute of Mortuary Science in June 1938. On October 9, 1938, he married Fern Davis in Cordell. They made their home in Granite where he operated the Irwin Funeral Home for 20 years before moving to Las Vegas where he worked for Clark County Coroners Office, retiring in 1988. He then moved to Enid where he worked with Anderson – King Funeral Home. He was a licensed funeral director and embalmer for 55 years. He also was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, David of Fairview and Phillip of Norman; one brother, Pat of Oklahoma City; and one sister, Hazel Barlow of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
