Kendra Raylene Griffin was born July 15, 1987 to Rebecca Doane Carmack and Ronnie Griffin at Okeene, Ok. She passed peacefully June 09, 2023 at home at the age of 35.
Kendra grew up in Fairview, graduating from Fairview High School in 2006. After high school she attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University and graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in history. Kendra was working on her master's degree in library science at OSU. Kendra made Fairview her home where she served the community in the food service industry.
Kendra loved to read all genres, fiction and non-fiction. She was passionate about all things history related. Realizing one of her dreams in the summer of 2006, where she traveled abroad to Italy. She enjoyed watching historical documentaries and movies, but she was the first to let you know if they were historically accurate. She also liked listening to all kinds of music.
Kendra's happiest times were spent with her family particularly the Cousin Club.
Those left to remember Kendra are her dad, Kenny Carmack of Fairview, Ok, one sister, Carlinda Thornton and husband Chris Thornton of Woodward, Ok, two nephews Blake and Baylor Thornton. Many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Welcoming her into Heaven are her mom, Rebecca Carmack, father Ronnie Griffin, grandparents B.G. And Carlene Doane, grandmothers Erma Henson and Kathryn Dawes, and 1 uncle, Roger Doane.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Fairview. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Fairview Funeral Home.
