Dale Sutton Graves was born August 21, 1934 in Horatio, Arkansas to Jesse and Diane (Sutton) Graves. He spent his years growing up in Arkansas and Texas. Dale entered the U.S. Army in 1957 and received an honorable discharge in 1959. He married Wilma Smith on December 5, 1960 in Coahoma, Texas. Together they raised 3 daughters, Sandra, Sheila and Glenna.
Dale spent his early years in the oilfield. He worked as a mechanic for Fred Jones Ford, Lincoln, Mercury dealership in Oklahoma City. He owned and operated a filling station where he also was mechanic. In his later years he worked as an 'over-the-road' truck driver. After retirement he and Wilma spent countless hours making crafts for craft shows, he as the builder and she the painter. He was quite a craftsman when it came to wood working and could build anything. Dale and Wilma were "Camp Hosts" at Ft. Cobb Lake. An avid hunter and fisherman, Dale enjoyed being outdoors. The family spent vacations in the desert on dune buggies, mini bikes, dirt bikes and camping. He loved to ride motorcycles too. Cheering on his grandkids sporting events was something he loved. He was a true Thunder fan and enjoyed watching college sports as well. He will be truly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Diane (Sutton) Graves, one brother, Paul and one grandson
He leaves to mourn, his wife Wilma, daughter; Sandra Wolfe, Sheila and Ron Slover and Glenna and Mike Rush, eleven grandchildren and thirty-seven great grandchildren.
