A Private family only graveside services for Esther Charlene Cravens, age 86, of Fairview, will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, September 10, 2020 at the Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, Oklahoma. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.
Esther Charlene Cravens was born on November 7, 1933 to Charley and Josie (Ewbank) Cravens and passed from this life to the next on September 5th, 2020 at her home in Fairview, Oklahoma.
Esther grew up in the Langdale area and attended school there graduating from high school. After graduation she was married and started her family and assumed the role of mother and home maker. She was trained as Nurses Aid at St. Mary’s and worked there for a short time. However, she loved math and was very good at it. So, she became an accountant and book keeper for Champlain Petroleum for many years. She worked her way up and was in charge of the Account Payable Department. Esther also worked for a short time in the business office for the Fairview Regional Medical Center, and as a home health provider.
Esther was an avid OU sports fan. She also loved going to her daughter Debbie’s basketball and softball games and in the off session she would go watch her bowl. She loved playing cards and gardening. She was known for growing great tomatoes.
Esther is survived by her daughter Debbie Roberts, two sons: Bruce Roberts and Wayne Roberts and wife Nancy, two grandchildren and one great grandchild, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and four sisters.
Memorials may be made to OMRF Cancer Division with Fairview Funeral Home acting as custodian.
