Funeral services for Richard Dale Byrd, 54, of Fairview, Oklahoma, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the Fairview Funeral Home Chapel. Hospice Chaplain, Gary Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.
Family Visitation will be Friday, September 20, 2013 from 6 to 7 PM.
Richard Dale Byrd was born April 3, 1959 in Salina, Kansas to Grady Lee and Sandra Jean (Irby) Byrd Atkison and passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at his home in Fairview.
Richard attended school in Konawa, OK and graduated from Oklahoma State University Okmulgee with an associate’s degree in Automotive Body repair and Applied Science .
He married Judith (Meier) Valencia on May 10, 2002.
Richard is survived by his wife Judy of the home, his daughters; Jessica (Byrd) Morgan and husband Joe of Konawa, OK and Elizabeth (Byrd) McCormick and husband Kelly of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; step-daughter Tiffany (Mayfield) Walton and husband Josh of Enid, OK; step-sons, Bryan Valencia of Stillwater, OK and Tim Mayfield and wife Amy of Isabella, OK; nine grand-children and one sister, Barbara (Byrd) Lee Reisebech of Oklahoma City, OK.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Sandra Byrd Atkinson, his grandparents, Delmar and Cleo (Bowerman) Irby, his uncle Jessie Irby and other family members.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice Circle of Love with the funeral home acting as custodian.
