Funeral services for "Sally" Ella Ester Boehs will be 3:30 p.m. Monday, November 27, 2017, at the Central Christian Church in Fairview, Oklahoma. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc.
"Sally" Ella Ester Howerton Boehs was born on April 5th, 1923, southwest of Fairview, to Gilbert and May Stearns Howerton. She was the eighth of nine children. A tenth child was lost in childbirth along with her mother when Ella was three. At the age of 18, she was able to leave home and move to Fairview. She took a job as housekeeper and caretaker of two children for $3.00 a week and meals.
On November 11th, 1945, Sally married Jake Boehs. Together they worked at farming both here and in southeastern Colorado. They moved to Eads, Colorado in 1950, but hard conditions and poor crops brought them home to Fairview in 1959. On November 23rd, 2017, Mom's Savior and best friend called her home.
Sally is survived by son Bruce and wife Sherry Boehs, Fairview; son Randall Boehs, Edmond; daughter Kathy and husband John Robison, Fairview; son Gary and wife Cindy Boehs, Fairview. Grandchildren are Brock Robison and wife Kari, and great¬grandchildren Kinlee Jo and Brower Robison all of Fairview; Brigit Robison, Stillwater; Jared Boehs and wife Carissa of Piedmont; Tessa Wicks and husband Ryan, and great-grandchild Luke Wicks all of Edmond; Jordan Boehs and wife Danielle, and great-grandchild Grayson Boehs, all of Edmond; and Joshua Boehs and fiancé Racheal Beckner of Stillwater.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Central Christian Church with the Fairview Funeral Home acting as custodian.
