Concord Cemetery

The funeral service for Lahoma Ruth Stull Parker, 97, will be Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 10:00AM in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Jim Jones will officiate. Burial will be in rural Meno in Concord Cemetery.

Lahoma passed away from natural causes August 25, 2011, at her home in Oxnard, CA. She lived her long, full life with a compelling enthusiasm for teaching young people.

Lahoma was born October 17, 1913, in Lahoma, OK, moving to Enid when she was five years old. She graduated from Enid High School and Phillips University. Lahoma taught elementary school in Enid from 1933 until 1955, making sure that all her students learned to read and to mind their manners. She also taught in Germany, Venezuela, and Oxnard, CA, where she retired after a 55 year teaching career.

Lahoma was preceded in death by her parents, Judge Arthur A. Stull and Orpha Carlile Stull, and all six of her siblings, Arthur Stull, Jr., Lincoln C. Stull, Charlotte E. Osmundson, Bertha Horn, Matthew J. Stull, and Orpha F. Johnson.

She is survived by sixteen nieces and nephews who will miss her valiant spirit and vibrant personality.

Lahoma was a member of the First Methodist Church in Enid, then a charter member and first choir director at Enid’s Christ Methodist Church.
