CHESTER - The funeral for Earl Haldaman, 67, of Chester , will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at First United Methodist Church, Seiling. Pastor Rick Forthman will officiate. Burial will be in Chester Cemetery . Arrangements are by Redinger Funeral Home, Seiling.
He was born Aug. 23, 1942, on the family farm northeast of Cheser to Milton T. and Evelyn Crowner Haldaman and died Saturday, March 6, 2010.
He was raised near Chester and attended Seiling schools, graduating from Seiling High School in 1961. He began working as a mechanic for Ray Burchett Implement Co. in Seiling in 1961.
He married Karen Holub Sept. 6, 1963, in Seiling, where they made their home. They purchased the business from Ray Burchett and renamed it Haldaman Tractor and Auto Repair, which they owned and operated until they retired.
He served serveral terms on the town board and was a member of Seiling Fire Department until he retired. He maintained the Chester Cemetery for 33 years.
In 1992, they moved to a farm southeast of Chester , where he farmed and raised cattle. He was active in Richmond Church Bible study group.
Surviving are his wife, Karen, of Chester ; one daughter, Merisha Willson of Greencastle, Pa.; four sisters, Myrna Carpenter of Fairgrove, Mo., Carol Steele of Broken Bow, Leslee Chapman of Chester and Lois Wood of Wakita; two brothers, Dale Haldaman of Fairview and Steve Haldaman of Joplin, Mo.; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter and one sister.
