Isabella – the funeral for Ruby L. Boehs, 75, will be 10:30 AM Tuesday at Fairview Church of God in Christ Mennonite. The Revs Randy Levings, Myron Nightingale and Carl Nightingale will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc.
She was born June 13, 1924, in Isabella to Fred and Anna Eck Penner and died Saturday, October 9, 1999, at Fairview Fellowship Home. She was a nurse at St. Mary's Hospital for five years and worked as an office nurse for Dr. Boughan for 10 years.
On August 20, 1971, she married Alfred Boehs at Fairview Church of God in Christ Mennonite. She lived in Isabella all of her life and was a member of the Fairview Church of God in Christ Mennonite, serving as a Sunday school teacher and a deacon's wife. She was active in the Sewing Circle.
Surviving are her husband, Alfred, of the home; two step sons, Allen "Bud" Boehs of Fairview and Max Boehs of Ulysses, Kansas; three step daughters, Aleene Koehn of Montezuma, Kansas, Sharon Ratzlaff of Canton, Kansas, and Alfreda Nightingale of Ulysses; two brothers, John Penner of Moundridge, Kansas, and Fred Penner of Isabella; three sisters, Frances Boehs of Montezuma, Lena Koehn of Macon, Mississippi, and Elsie Nightengale of Fairview; 15 step grandchildren; and 25 step great – grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, one step daughter, five step grandchildren and to step great – grandchildren.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hospice Circle of Love.
