August 10, 1922 - March 23, 2023
Doris J. Unruh, age 100, of Gratis, Ohio and formerly of Fairview, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023. She was born August 10, 1922 in Goessel, Kansas to the late Gerhard and Lydia (Dalke) Franzen. Doris was a member of the Central Christian Church in Fairview, Oklahoma where she sang in the choir and also was a member of the Lower Miami Church of the Brethren in Dayton, Ohio, where she taught Sunday School, served as Church Treasurer, choir member and various committees.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Alfred Unruh; son Jerry Unruh; sister Elma Mishler; and brothers Irvin Franzen, Daniel Franzen, and Kenneth Franzen.
She is survived by her daughter Jan Bornemann and husband Dan of Fairview, Oklahoma; son Mike Unruh and wife Kim of Gratis, Ohio; sister Margo Adams of Panama City, Florida; grandchildren: Rev. Christina Hayworth and husband Brent of Burkburnett, TX, Gary Bailey and wife Ciji of Pennsylvania and Jessica Roberts and husband David of Germantown, Ohio; great grandchildren: Lydia Hayworth, Ethan Roberts, Dylan Roberts, Gracie Roberts, Sierra Bailey, Bella Bailey, Anthony Stump and Brandon Cerami; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Central Christian Church.
