Kyle Richard Woods-Castleberry was born in Houston, Texas on August 4, 1998, to Regina Jewell Cochran and Clinton Richard Schober, Sr. As a young child, Kyle lived near his grandparents in Alvin, Texas before moving to Fairview, Oklahoma, his family's ancestral home. His family returned to Alvin in his teen years, and he attended school at Alvin High School, where his favorite subjects were music and theatre.
Kyle was known for his huge heart and caregiving spirit. He loved video gaming and enjoyed the camaraderie with friends he made through those ongoing adventures. Kyle worked at Walmart in Alvin, Texas before moving into a career path in healthcare. He began working as a pharmacy technician at Walgreens in Alvin, Texas before transferring to Warrenton, Missouri and Summerville, South Carolina. Kyle was tremendously excited to enter the EMT program and was humbled and proud to become a member of the Emergency Medical Service team for Charleston County, South Carolina in May 2024.
Kyle departed this life on January 14, 2025. He is preceded in heaven by his parents, Regina Cochran and Clinton Schober, Sr, and by the grandparents he adored, Richard Lewis Castleberry and Alberta Jeanne Woods Castleberry. He joins his great-aunts Juanita Bowles, Xona Jolley, and Karolyn Kay Hinton, great-uncle Robert Castleberry, along with cousins Richard H. Bowles, Kim E. Rollins, and William L. Jolley.
Kyle is survived by his beloved godmother, Patricia Jeanne Woods, whose heart he held closest throughout his life, and by his dearest cousins Starlette Gill, Lowell & Sarah Gill and family, Meredith & Chris Getteau and family, Elizabeth and Mark Hogg and family, Neal Rollins, Ronda & Lionel Rotelli, Ruth Bowles, and Alex Negelein. Mike, Shannon, Joey, Alex, Logan, and Zoey Weigel were honored to become Kyle's bonus family. He is one of us and will forever remain in our hearts and our minds.
There are few relationships in life more precious than those we build. Kyle's life will always be celebrated and remembered by his chosen brother, Brandon Reglin, along with Nana, Penny Olson, and best friends Taylor Vachon, Becca Modesitt, and his constant furry-companion, Jack.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on March 15, 2025, at the Central Christian Church, 223 E. Broadway, Fairview, OK 73737, officiated by pastor Nathan Warren. Interment will be at the Bethel Cemetery in Dane, Oklahoma, under the direction of the Fairview Funeral Home in Fairview, Oklahoma.
