Jaison Paige Long was born on the second day of February 1969 in Blaine County at the Okeene Municipal Hospital in Oklahoma to Gwendolyn Kay Long and passed away on the thirteenth day of November 2023 at the age of fifty-four.
During his life, Paige attended high school at Putnam City Original where he played basketball and found an interest in meteorology and agriculture. After high school, Paige enlisted in the United States Navy on the fifth day of February 1990 where he served for 8 years and rose to the rank of 2nd Class Petty Officer. During that time he was awarded a Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation ribbon, three Sea Service Deployment ribbons, two Southwest Asia Service medals, a National Defense Service medal, two Battle "E" ribbons, an Armed Forces Service Medal, a Navy Good Conduct Award, a Joint Meritorious Unit Award, a Navy Unit Commendation ribbon, a NATO Medal and a Kuwait Liberation Medal while serving in Operation Desert Storm during the Gulf War as an Aviation Boatswain's Mate fuels specialist tasked to supervise the movement of Naval aircrafts and perform rescue duties.
Once Paige was honorably discharged from the United States Navy, he spent his time focusing on his family and his career supervising cement masonry throughout the Midwest region in which he had a large influence on the foundational planning of Oklahoma's modern roads and structures. In his later career, he moved into the oil field industry focusing on soil farming and refinement.
Paige enjoyed volunteering and serving at his church in the children's ministry and spending time driving around Lake Overholser listening to music with his kids. He took the time to teach his children the importance of helping those in need and sharing what they have with others as he practiced this lifestyle as often as he could by befriending everyone he met. Even in Paige's last moments, he wanted to provide others with what he could, despite also being in a time of need. There was never a moment in his life when he wasn't willing to help someone in any way possible.
Paige was preceded in death by his grandparents, Meritt and Ruth McCaskey, and his beloved son, Joshua Tyler Long. He is survived by his daughter Danielle Paige Long, his brother Phillip Ashley Long, and his mother Gwendolyn Kay Long as well as numerous other relatives and friends who loved him dearly.
Graveside funeral services for Jaison Paige Long will be held on the twenty-fourth day of November 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Bethel Cemetery in Major County, Oklahoma with minister Charley Newman officiating and arrangements made by Wilkinson Mortuary.
