Funeral services were held in the Ames Baptist Church last Monday afternoon for Mrs. Rose McKown, who died on Tuesday in an Enid hospital following a lingering illness. Burial was made in the Ames Cemetery.
Mrs. McKown, 71, came to Oklahoma from Indiana at the opening of the Cherokee Strip and with her husband, settled on a farm west of Drummond.
Mr. McKown died several years ago. Mrs. McKown lived on the farm until just a few months before her death. She will be remembered here by her many friends for her loving deeds of kindness.
