A memorial service for Eugene Ernest Cooper, 61, of Ames, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel. John Sheffield will officiate. Cremation arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Eugene was born Oct. 28, 1948, to Victor and Madeline Inez (Poindexter) Cooper in Enid, and died Saturday, June 5, 2010, in Enid. He grew up in Ames and graduated from Ames High School. He served in the United States Navy during Vietnam and following his discharge returned to Ames and began working for CSC. He worked for 30 years at CSC as an avionics inspector.

On Nov. 28, 1983, he married Kay Diane Jester in Fort Smith, Ark., and they made their home in Ames. He was a member of Ames Church of Christ and Ames American Legion and former president of Sooner Motorcycle Club. Eugene was a quiet man and a good husband.

Eugene is survived by his wife, Diane, of the home; two brothers, Gerald Cooper, Florida, and Clayton Cooper, Ames; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to OMRF, cancer or diabetes division.

Graveside memorial service for Diane Cooper will be Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in Ames Cemetery, Ames, Oklahoma, with Brian Meyer officiating. Cremation arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.

Diane was born September 5, 1947, in Boston, Massachusetts, to John Henry Jester, Jr., and Kay Ellen (Conole) Jester and died on August 8, 2021, in Enid.

She graduated from Canyon High School, Canyon, Texas, and went to college for two years. Diane lived in Amarillo, Texas, and Las Vegas, Nevada, before making her home in Alva, Oklahoma. She was a manager of a floral shop in Alva. On November 28, 1983, she married Eugene Ernest Cooper in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and they made their home in Ames, Oklahoma. Diane was a member of the Lions Club, Sooner Riders Motorcycle Club and a 35-year member of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Diane is survived by several cousins and friends.
