The funeral services for Raymond Theodore Brittain, 82-year-old Enid resident, were at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 22, 2010, at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Vernon Lee officiated. Burial followed in Ames Cemetery.

He was born to Everett and Julia (Vance) Brittain and died at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.

He graduated from Ames High School with the class of 1946.

He served in the United Army and after worked for the city of Enid until his retirement.

He is survived by his son, James R. "Jim" Brittain of Mesa, Ariz.; three sisters, Velva Hawk of Enid, Aileen Crawford of Enid and Dorothy Skalenda of Lubbock, Texas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
