Mr. Hamm surveyed this cemetery in 2003.
TOWNSEND cemetery only so named because it is on the Towsend property. Why this cemetery is here is unknown. It is possibly an area used by Burneyville at one time. It is abandoned and overgrown and difficult to find, and is sitting on the bank of a creek. It is 3/4 of a mile directly east of the Townsend home site. It is located in 1W, 7S, Section 35.
If you have family buried in this cemetery and would like to add their information, an obit, tombstone photo, funeral home record or memorial card to this website please send the area coordinator an email.
